Brainerd Troops 43 and 1043 provide many different outdoor programs throughout the year.

Outdoor programs include Spring Camporee, OA Spring Conclave, Nanuq, Alpha Lupus winter camp, and more!

Camping - Fun activities

Nature, shooting sports, Scoutcraft, waterfront fun, and more! The essential elements that make summer camp fun for Scouts are founded in what makes Scouting great for our youth.

Shooting Sports on the Range

Outdoor programs include summer camp, high adventure programs at the Pamlico Sea Base, weekend camping, Philmont contingent, and many more.

Waterfront Fun

With access to the shores of North Long Lake at Parker Scout Reserveration, Scouts can make a splash and cool off in the summer heat! All swim activities are supervised by aquatics staff that are trained in Aquatics Safety by an Aquatics Director to ensure our Scouts are able to have fun in a safe environment.

We canoe and kayak down the Mississippi River for our annual “Canoe to Bob’s” adventure, topped-off with the Great Turkey Feather Camp.

Hikes into Nature

Parker Camp Reserveration has 256 wooded acres and provides several hiking trails that connect to the local wilderness.

We encourage scouts to explore to put their fitness and adventurousness to the test at every camp they attend. Every camp offers opportunities to earn or make progress toward hiking and orienteering merit badges.

Scoutcraft & Survival Skills

From knot-tying to whittling, Scoutcraft is all of the skills which Scouts learn as part of their Scouting adventure. Scouts learn about using knives, axes, and other tools safely around themselves and others.

Survival skills give them the chance to learn practical skills in difficult environments.
